How to use your pop-out cards

1 Step one

Unpack & choose a stage

Open your trugs pack and pick the stage you'd like to start with.

  • Each pack contains 5 stages
  • Stages build on the one before
  • Start at the beginning or jump in where it suits

  • 9 cards per sheet: 3 reference + 6 word cards
  • Words are colour-coded by set
  • Cards are durable and reusable

  • Adult helper + learner, or two learners
  • 10–15 minutes per session is plenty
  • Celebrate every correct read

Band & store

When you've finished, slip an elastic band around each game and pop it in your storage box or folder.

  • Keep games together so they stay tidy
  • Ready to grab again next session
  • Any small box, tin or A4 wallet works
6 Step six

Repeat for the next stage

Move on through the 5 stages in your pack at your learner's pace.

  • Stages get progressively trickier
  • Revisit earlier stages any time
  • Every stage = three new games to play
