Scribe Panes when recording
Once Sensory Scribe is recording, then you can concentrate your focus on the speakers during the meeting, conference or lecture. You can be sure Scribe will record the audio, and provide the transcribed text, without a web connection. Please always check with the others involved that it is acceptable to record an event, and sit close to people who are speaking (for best results).
Sensory Scribe does provide some handy tools to add notes, look back over the instantly transcribed text and view/annotate a PDF or PowerPoint file such as lecture or meeting notes.
When creating a recording and live transcription, (without a PDF document added), you will see the Window below. You can minimise this and the recording and transcription will continue, but you need to click "Stop" at the end of the recording.
1. This shows the live captions window, which displays the current live phrase. If this Window is closed, the Scribe application will not be able to receive transcribed text, but the audio recording will continue. To restart and reset the caption window, stop the current recording and create a new recording.
2. The live captions window has some standard settings, for display and window position. This live caption window can be minimised by Sensory Scribe, if not required.
3. This is the Transcription record window. All the transcribed text will appear in this window. There is a short delay for the most recent text sentence or section to appear, whilst the transcription is created. This transcription is created live on the PC, and does not require or depend on an internet connection.
4. This is the Notes pane. During a live event or meeting, you can type notes alongside the audio recording and transcription record. The text notes are contained within the Scribe project folder as a text file.
5. The audio signal is displayed, so you are confident that recording is taking place.
6. This also shows the current live caption text. This is the same text as displayed in the live captions window (1). However, if you choose to minimise the live captions window, then you still see the live text coming into Scribe.
7. This shows the recording status and duration.
8. These are coloured markers that can be added to the transcription text window, and can be used when something interesting or relevant occurs. Or they can be used to denote different speakers if you prefer. You will see the markers within the transcription, and be able to click and listen to the audio at that time (when reviewing a Scribe audio project)
