Sensory Scribe can be used to transcribe audio (or video) files created on any recording device, in the past. Ensure the file format is MP3 or MP4 and transfer the audio file to your PC or network file drive.

Then select New Recording in Scribe.

Choose a file name, and then select "Use existing audio file". This button will open Windows Explorer, so find your audio file and the transcription will setup (Caption window will open). Then press "Start Recording" when you are ready to start transcription.

Transcription is currently done "live" on an existing audio file to generate the best text transcription results. However, you can minimise Scribe and work on other things whilst your transcription is being created. Turn down the audio on your speakers if you prefer, Scribe will still transcribe directly from the audio file. Muting the audio may stop the transcription, but a very low output volume won't affect the transcription.
